Out of high school, I left Colorado to attend a small, elite college on the east coast. I decided I didn't like it after a year and I attempted to transfer to another top tier school in Colorado, but they wouldn't take my credits and would require me to start over as a freshman. I couldn't afford another year of schooling at $60K, so I decided the smartest choice would be to return home and attend CMC to start my freshman year over at cheaper price. I ended up staying to complete my Associate's because not only was CMC incredibly inexpensive compared to my first school, the staff and my professors were far more dedicated to making sure I was absolutely ready for whatever I want to do with my degree. Most of my professors had Doctorate's degrees in their fields, and none of my classes had more than 20 students, even the core curriculum. Now I am transferring back to a four year school with absolute certainty that every cent and ounce of effort I gave to the school will count towards my Bachelor's, and my parents are over the moon about the cost. I cannot recommend Colorado Mountain College enough. I've learned an important lesson that even though a school has a brand name and a prestigious history, doesn't mean that school is the best fit for every one

The views are incredible and the wildlife viewings (deer almost daily) are a blast.

One of the best police academies in the state. Friendly staff and great location.

This is my second semester here, and first semester being a Resident Assistant, and let me tell you, this place is wonderful. Here you aren't just a number, here people care about your education. There is a very strong support system in place so if you ever have any questions, all you have to do is ask. The views are amazing, the classes are small and personal. They have free tutoring available every day of the week, and an excellent library. The activities on campus are frequent and fun. Overall, this is really an ideal campus if you're looking to get the college experience with the right budget, support, and personal help.

At first glance, Colorado Mountain College might seem like any other small community college. But ever since my first visit, I realized that this was not the case. I'm in my last semester of the graphic design program here at Spring Valley, and I've been challenged, educated, and given exceptional resources and opportunities to grow in my field. CMC was exactly what I was looking for: a small, very affordable school that gives those in creative fields the tools to step out into the workforce. Besides all of that, the campus is in an incredible mountain setting. With close access to skiing, hiking, climbing, and all the other resources this remarkable valley has, I could not ask for a better location.

The interaction between the school and students to support Colorado Animal Rescue and the pets is a breath of fresh air and an extension of the Roaring Forks and this region of Colorado. I am in my second semester and have not seen a stray dog or an animal that appears neglected around the community. On the other hand the dog parks are outstanding and the amount of people out and about routinely interacting with their dogs is impressive.

The Vet Tech program is challenging and I really enjoy that it is. The more challenging, the higher my drive to succeed.

I am an older, change of career student at CMC and have seen and attended college at other locations. I love this school. Every encounter with the faculty and staff has been enjoyable. They will go out of their way in any capacity to ensure they help you out and with a smiling face.
