John, If you are reading this please note you would have not only earned a sale of one shoe, but another as I was eyeing a pricey little wedge for myself. Also, you would have earned my endearing patronage to your store here forward. AND, you wouldn't have this one not so pleasant review posted for the rest of the online world to see of your less than stellar customer treatment. A simple "Hi, thanks for coming in. I would really love to honor the lower price but we just can't right now" would still have earned my business. For now, Amazon gets the sale :(
When the shoe I needed was not available in my husband's size, the next option suggested by the polite sales gal was a shoe 10 bucks more. I asked if the price could be met for the shoe I previously had intended to buy (which was the same price as Amazon) but was not available in the size I needed. She kindly responded "probably but let me check with John", who happened to be standing right next to her with a rather unfriendly body language and a furrowed brow. John never made eye contact with me, and instead slowly shook his head while maintaining a furrowed brow as the sales gal inquired about matching the price of the original shoe. Again, he never acknowledged my presence 2 ft. away. For 10 dollars, I had assumed the manager would have been willing to negotiate in order to earn my business, especially given the current reality that brick and mortar retail shops are quickly becoming a thing of the past due to more convenient online shopping.
They have women's stuff as well, but I can't speak to that selection.
They have a really good selection of high quality goods in a very helpful and friendly shop. What's not to like? Stop in and get yourself something
Good selection of shoes, from athletic shoes to dress shoes to rugged boots. Good selection of men's wear, from jeans to dress shirts to wool sweaters to leather jackets. Also good men's accessories: hats, watches, wallets, belts, gloves.
In an attempt to support our local businesses being affected by the bridge construction, I decided to purchase my husbands shoes at Treadz. Unfortunately, based on the manager John's poor customer treatment, I am purchasing at another competitor.... AMAZON!
If I could put no stars I would. But I really wanted to share my experience. I understand that it is polite and part of the job to greet customer's however, I did not appreciate being greeted by the same employee three times within not even being five mins there. I didnt even have a chance to look at their products to buy because of it. I get in retail you dont want people to steal from your store, but i dont think you want to make your customers feel like they would steal. Then a long hair blonde woman who i wish I caught her name clearly found it okay to bump me from behind after i was short with her coworker whom greeted me three times like she hadnt just spoke to me. On top of her bumping in to me, I had to apologize for being in her way to get an apology from her. When she apologized she was walking away from me and also whipped her hair with attitude. I think that is so stupid. Coming from a dental assistant like myself. I always treat all my patients with kindness no acceptions of how they may treat me.
Absolutely incredible clothing, shoe and gift store!
Excellent service, too. I shop there frequently enough that the staff and owner greet me by name.
I'm thankful I have the option to spend my money at a well-run, locally-owned business.
