The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Courteous staff, decent camping.
The campground was quiet yet filled on Memorial Day weekend. I consider ourselves lucky to be able to book a spot the Saturday we rolled into town. The full hookup services and reasonable price were appreciated. In Spring, the hillsides are green, the birds are chirping and the trees provide nice shade at this campground.
We stayed here last weekend after an awful experience with the Hideout campground (do not go there). Craig was super nice and was able to hook us up in a pinch. We got the upper most walk - in tent site with AMAZING views. The bathrooms were very clean and the property is well maintained. CAMP HERE If you're coming to Glenwood!
Left a voicemail and got a call back same day to reserve a spot. Owner of the campsite was the nicest person I have met thus far and was extremely helpful. Had a lot of knowledge of things to do in the immediate area and even helped us map out our next stop as we are traveling through the Midwest. Had a campsite overlooking the highway where the mountain range met and it was breathtaking. The stars were so clear at night. If you're looking for a reasonable campsite in Glenwood Springs that's functional, clean, and low cost, this is the place to go. Quick five minute drive to booze, gas, food, hot springs, or shopping.
Nice tent site with a couple tables and a fire pit. Fires are currently only permitted after 7pm, and no wood is provided or sold. The campground itself is quiet, but there is a decent amount of noise from I-70. I'd suggest earplugs if you're in a tent and a light sleeper.
My family is just beginning our RV journey with a recently purchased travel trailer. Until now, we've been tent campers, mostly in search of quiet, peaceful getaways. Ami's Acres is literally a stone's throw from Interstate 70, so I wouldn't exactly call it remote. The constant din of traffic may be upsetting to some, but the campground was high enough off the road that it actually didn't bother me too much. The RV sites are rather close together, and there are no campfires allowed in the RV area. This was a big disappointment for my 7-year old.
Craig, the owner, is very friendly. We did a last minute stay there and had to use the overflow spot at a reasonable price. The overflow is a very nice spot and pretty much away from everyone. This site had a GREAT view which is perfect for star gazing. Depending on where you stay, the main bathroom/showers (very clean) are pretty far, but there are still several port-a-potties that require a small walk. While there is a highway and train tracks near the campsite but you can't even hear it. (Btw since we gave a good review we are definitely associated with them.)
It's not my vision of camping paradise, but it sure beats staying in a hotel!
